50 Cent ordered to pay Rick Ross' baby mama $5 Million for sex tape leak

The Manhattan Supreme Court has ordered 50 Cent to pay Lavonia Leviston, Rick Ross' baby mama, $5 million in damages for uploading her sex tape to the internet in 2009.

According to reports, $2.5 million of the sum is for "violating her civil rights for using her image without her permission," and the other $2.5 million is for "intentional infliction of emotional distress." Leviston's lawyer originally sought $20 million total in damages.

50 was absent during the court proceedings, not attending to testify nor hear the verdict. He has denied publishing the tape online, though it undeniably features 50 Cent in his "Pimpin' Curly" outfit providing commentary from start to finish.

Sad story! Blogger shares his encounter with Nigerian legend, Majek Fashek

Investment banker and Blogger Joseph Edgar ran into Nigerian music legend Majek Fashek this morning in Lagos on his way to work. The story he shares is quite sad. Read below...
On my way to work this morning, I spotted a loony figure. Pants sagged, dirty black underwear showing, a caftan perched precariously on his extra lean shoulders, shock of long unkempt dreadlocks cascading down his head and teeth yellowed by years of hard living and a face still surprisingly handsome despite the ravages of illicit living. This was Majek, my hero, the one who brought down the rain.

He it was who redefined Reggae and in that one album forced us to look deep into our consciousness, calling us prisoners of conscience. He it was who took that Bob Marley piece, Redemption Song into the sublime. He infused it with his pangolo rhythm and turned it into an anthem of social and spiritual awakening. Majek was a god, strong Adonis like looks, talent yet to me replicated in our clime and charisma of the gods.
This same Majek, I just saw like that in Fadeyi, begging for ogogoro becuase he did not have 100 Naira to pay for it. I stopped brought out 1,000 Naira and was immediately struck by confusion. Should I give him this money and contribute to his death or should I refuse him and watch him throw a tantrum like a disposed toddler. He saved me the dilemma as he grabbed the money from me and rushed to the ugly, black dirty merchant of death, who gleefully poured him a glass full.
Majek downed the drink and hugged me like I had just saved him from the hang mans noose. I looked deep into his eyes and saw a lost soul. He was actually begging for help, the demon inside of him peered at me from his once very beautiful eyes, daring me to do my worse. Assuring me that he had no intention of leaving this host until it finished it's dreadful task of killing him ever so slowly.
He called me a fine boy and wished he was as good looking as I was, I laughed. A laugh that was more of pity, a laugh that was laced with internal cry of pain. A pain that cascaded through every pain in my body. If only I had one tenth of this talent, I would be far from fadeyi begging for N100 worth of ogogoro.
Did we fail him as Nigerians, did we put an umbrella over the Rainmaker, did the flood of his talent wash away his life, what can be done, do we continue watch him make a mockery of a Life once blessed?
Majek in his destitution represents Nigeria. Blessed with more than enough resources., rich in human capacity, more fertile land than the whole of Asia and filled with gifted and talented people, but yet beggerly and poor. Daily our leaders go to 'jibowu' to beg poorer countries for aid, for debt forgiveness. The contradiction never leaves me. Japan with no known Natural resources is so developed that we can only look in shame.
Majek with all the talents of a thousand people, begging the woman who can't lift a finger beside him for N100, Majek being laughed at by miscreants and being mocked with so much joy by those who were not half as blessed by God.
What can I do, but to write this piece and just walk away, lest his guest demon attempt a move on my life. I saw it and felt it look into my soul and with one withered hand, offered me a shot of the Devils brew. A shot I knew would throw me into the darkest pits of Majeks torture, a shot that will take me spiraling down the tunnels of oblivion, destroying the innocent dependent lives of my children while giving Majek solace that he has finally found a room mate albeit a very reluctant and scared one.
I pray for you sir.  I pray God gives you peace. God bless you Majek.

Etcetera Attacks Denrele Edun and Charly Boy in New Article Inspired by Caitlyn Jenner

Former musician Etcetera is fast becoming quite the controversial writer with his weekly articles.
In his latest pieces he joins the many voices conversing about Caitlyn Jenner. He however brings his point of discussion to Nigeria, especially media personality Denrele Edun and veteran musician Charly Boy.
Read his post below.
*Please note that the post gets a bit graphic
And that’s how Bruce Jenner unveiled his new identity, leaving his male identity behind with Caitlyn. Trust Nigerians not to be left behind in the gossip and buzz it generated. A female radio presenter was like, “Oh my God,” so Bruce Jenner is now Caitlyn Jenner? What the hell is going on?”
Pleaseeeee, Nigerians should stop feigning surprise like they’ve not seen or heard anything like this before. You all should stop acting like we don’t have our own Denrele Edun. Mscheeeeeewwwww – is it because Bruce or Caitlyn (whatever she is called now) finally had enough balls to come out and say he is now a woman?
It’s just a matter of time, Denrele will be woman enough and do same thing and give us something new to talk about aside from his Nkechi-like hairdo. I don’t think it should even be in our news that Caitlyn Jenner is now a transgender. There are thousands of them in America. They infused the word in our vocabulary and it has become an umbrella term for people whose gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned by God. An American transgender described Caitlyn as the “Change” that America champions which is why America is always ahead of the rest of the world. Hahahahaha! Change indeed.
HELLO!!!! can someone tell that American transgender or transsexual or whatever she is that the slogan for the new government in Nigeria is “CHANGE?”
Lol, we’ve had Denrele since and we didn’t see him as change… Maybe someone should show her Denrele’s pictures so that she will be aware that Nigeria is catching up with them. Jesus Christ! Is this what being westernised is all about? Isn’t this madness? Isn’t that the term for those who enjoy dressing as the opposite sex? Or should we refer to Denrele as a cross-dresser for now until he finally plucks off his balls?
Does it look like Denrele will eventually pluck off his balls? Yes, eventually. It is just a matter of time. We are already used to his lipsticks, heels and Nkechi hairdo. And of course, he’s already been a poster “girl” for Nigerian magazines for as long as I can remember. The same poster girl that Bruce, oh sorry Caitlyn Jenner has dreamt of becoming since he/she was a child. Shit!!! – How do you write an article about Denrele and Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner if you keep identifying them by the wrong gender pronoun? Am I going to be saying “sorry” whenever I make mistakes like, “He looks hot,” or “she looks hot?”
The American system has made it impossible to mention Bruce and balls in the same sentence. Like Caitlyn Jenner, are we soon going to start using the V-word for Denrele and Charlie boy too? I pray we never get there. Our society doesn’t deserve such cruelty and madness. Denrele and Charlie Boy, for society’s sake, please keep your balls.. Lol…
Lawmakers, we need a little help here. Can you guys please give us something to stop Denrele, Uncle Charlie Boy or any other Nigerian from de-balling themselves now or anytime in the future? The lawmakers should do something about transgenders
.
That Bruce Jenner is no longer a man proves that America has gone mad. We shouldn’t allow the west to influence us wrongly. These guys have been the butt of jokes and the source of rumours and speculations for years, as their appearances became more feminine. They need our prayers now more than ever. As for Bruce Jenner, he needs Jesus. Without Jesus, he is hopeless—regardless of whether he struggles with gender identity or not.
Eternity is a small and rapidly decreasing number of heartbeats away and he will live in hell, as Bruce Jenner, not Caitlyn, for trillions of years (forever) in horrifying, unending torment, with a never-ending panic attack. The same goes for everyone who is reading this and has been chasing a different identity from that which God has given you. Hell is your future. You will live in terror. This is the truth.

Pay-Per-View: What You Need To Know

Pay-per-view (PPV) is a television service through which subscribers can buy events to watch via private telecast. Every subscriber who pays to watch an event gets to watch it at the same time.

It is different from a video-on-demand service, like the one offered by DStv Catch-Up, that allows subscribers watch recorded broadcasts at their convenience. PPV is used for the broadcast of high-ticket, one-off events that include feature films, live sporting and entertainment events.

A subscriber that wants to watch an event on PPV is required to have a base subscription. This means an active monthly pay-TV subscription that does not include the cost of an event being purchased on PPV. Payment for an event on PPV is separate.

Thus, PPV is not the same as pay-TV For example, the recent boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio was sold to viewers in the US at the cost of $99.5. In the UK, it was sold for 65 pounds. That cost is in excess of the equivalent of N20,000 and some way above the cost of DStv premium subscription.

DStv subscribers, however, watched it here at no added cost. Viewers in the US and elsewhere, who watched the fight on PPV, had to pay the rate charged. In the US, live WWE fights are sold to subscribers on PPV. Such events are bought by order, using an on-screen guide, an automated telephone system or through a customer service representative.

PPV events are usually in the premium content category and are thus considerably expensive. Television audience in the UK can access PPV via satellite, cable and over the internet TV services, mainly for films via such services as Sky Box Office. While pay-per-view allows the subscriber to view those important events, the subscriber is eligible to pay for PPV events if he or she has a subsisting pay-TV subscription. Thus, PPV is not a la carte. Neither is it pay-as-you-watch, a model that is non-existent in pay-TV.

Currently, the PPV model is not being used in any African country. Broadcast rights to PPV events are different from those of monthly subscriptions and an adoption of the PPV model carries a huge potential of making pay-TV subscriptions considerably more expensive to users.

When you think of PPV, picture walking into a restaurant where the standard plate of food, with two pieces of beef or fish, costs N500. Now, when you feel an itch for bush meat or stock fish, neither of which is included in the standard plate, the cost jumps astronomically. That is the way PPV works.

PPV is not cheaper. In fact, it is considerably more expensive than the monthly subscription model.
